I think it would be a really good idea to be able to control the speed of your fleets. Example: i want my armada to arrive at the destination at the same time. However my armada consists of sea wolves and sea scorpions. They go jetting off leaving my floating fortress and leviathans behind! I do NOT want the victim to know i am coming. Of course my sea wolves and sea scorpions would alert the enemy sector and someone would friendly bubble the victim before my base hitter gets there. So think if we had a speed clock to be able to slow our fleets down so they arrive on time and could secure the hit. The maximum speed would be the speed that they go currently and low speed about 18mph on all ships. This would be able to have huge armada's crossing the map at the same speed. Think of warships escorting aircraft carriers now. The destroyers don't go zooming off and leave the aircraft carriers to their own defences. This doesn't mean a fleet guarding a fleet. This means slow moving convoys consisting of some fleets (other player's or not) could cross the map together to cause a sector war or whatever! lets call it chaos! And no i don't want this game to turn into willy nilly :P .

i usually hide my fleets under a bookmark and just wait till its within 4 minutes and then peek and wait the 4 minutes while driving from the outside, its a good tactic and they dont have much choice to stop you

Its a good idea if implemented right.

I just launch the base fleet first and send it on its way.
Then I launch my prep fleets and see how long it will take them.
Then when there is 2mins difference I send the preps on their way.
Linda doesn't stop the sooks from engaging every base I drive near. But at least gets them all there around the same time.
